Company History
In 1972, a small pharmaceutical corporation
took shape in Malabon after a chance meeting among seven gentlemen headed by Arnedo C. Lucas, Sr. The corporation was named MEDICAMENTA PHARMACEUTICALS, INC. In 1975, the company relocated to Caloocan City and was registered as MEDICAMENTA, INC. The entrepreneurs of the Lucas and Santos families took controlling interest in the company, vowing to provide low-priced,quality medicines to everyone.
A few years later,
after its quiet beginning, the company began to market its first imported product - AEKNIL, a Paracetamol for injection. With a simple distribution system and a modest sales force to promote the product, the managers applied modern management and marketing techniques, making AEKNIL the company’s flagship product to date. In 2001, the company expanded its product base, importing other quality products from foreign manufacturers and distributors. They also began selling manufactured medicines to complement the product mix.

to a policy of providing affordable medicines for the public, the managers of Medicamenta continue to double their efforts at diversifying their product lines beyond what they have at present. Supported by a staff of committed and energetic marketing professionals, Medicamenta, Inc. sets its vision towards the attainment of its primordial goal -- to be a dynamic company, providing lower, reasonably-priced medicines for the benefit of the public.
